WIMA as a privately-owned company is represented at four locations in Germany: Mannheim, Berlin, Aurich and Unna.

WIMA’s strength lies in the design and production of customized products requiring experience and highly developed expertise. Solutions can therefore be offered to all customer needs. Major customer groups are in automotive, consumer and industrial electronics and the lighting industry. Among others there are well-known and demanding customers like Bosch and Siemens with supply of worldwide facilities.

Having a strong focus on innovation WIMA has since the very first day set milestones in capacitor technology.

WIMA has a long tradition as manufacturer of the passive electronic component film capacitor. It was founded by Wilhelm Westermann in Unna/Westphalia in 1948. Within only a few years he extended his company into the leading specialists in capacitor production. WIMA is still a privately owned company and the president today is Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. Wolfgang Westermann.

Based on our long tradition as manufacturer of the passive electronic component "film capacitor", we focus on continuous technical innovation, productivity and cost optimization.
